The International Fiscal Association Ireland (IFA Ireland) together with IFA Central provides a forum for the discussion of fiscal and tax matters among tax professionals, accountants, lawyers, industry academics, policy makers and Revenue officials.
IFA was established in 1938. It is the only non-governmental and non-sectoral international organisation dealing with fiscal matters. Its objects are the study and advancement of international and comparative law in regard to public finance, specifically international and comparative fiscal law and the financial and economic aspects of taxation. IFA is headquartered in the Netherlands and now has more than 12,500 members worldwide drawn from 116 countries. Ireland is one of 70 countries where an IFA branch has been established.
